Embrace the essence of autumn with our exclusive Hand Made AliShan High Mountain Oolong Tangerine Tea, meticulously encased in the aromatic organic tangerine peels from ChiaYi's renowned orchards in southern Taiwan. This exquisite blend marries the zest of tangerine with the refined taste of Oolong, creating a symphony of flavours that's simply unmatched.
Crafting this tea is an art, requiring about 20 days of steaming and drying, followed by a precise roasting process. The tea-filled tangerines are then basked under the sun for a half-year maturation, ensuring a rich infusion of citrus into the leaves.
Our Tea Master, Mr. Yeh, brings four decades of expertise from the cradle of High Mountain Tea, Alishan. His innovative three-year endeavour to perfect the ancient Hakka method of infusing tea with fruit skins has borne fruit in this rare tangerine Oolong tea—a treasure rarely found in Taiwan, now proudly offered to the UK by TeaWon.
Adorning the pinnacle of each tangerine is a label steeped in tradition, featuring the tea master's Chinese seal with his signature at the bottom left. At the top right, the tea's appellation is elegantly inscribed, while the centre boasts the year of the Tiger (2022) rendered in exquisite Chinese calligraphy. The lower portion of the label proudly displays "Republic of China (Taiwan) Year 111," marking the time-honoured heritage of this exceptional brew.
Ingredients:
Select ChinShin (Green-tip) tea leaves, hand-picked from the winter harvest of Alishan.
Certified organic tangerines from ChiaYi, each Tangerine High Mountain Oolong tea weighing approximately 60-70 grams.
Savour the natural, robust tangerine fragrance of this tea, a stark departure from artificially flavoured varieties. To fully enjoy it:
1. Gently crack open the tangerine with a hammer, taking care not to damage the leaves inside.
2. Brew one-third of the tea leaves with 150ml of boiling water for 50 seconds.
3. For each additional infusion, extend the brewing time by 10-20 seconds, up to 5-7 times.
This tea also carries a cultural whisper from Mandarin traditions, where 'Liu-Ding' (tangerine) symoolizes a wish for offspring, making it a thoughtful blessing for those desiring children.
Preserve the freshness of your tea by storing it in a dry place and sunning it monthly. Aging improves its character, with 3-5 years elevating it to its full potential. This tea isn't just a beverage; it's a valuable collectible, promising both taste and investment rewards.
